Hydrogen Proposals at the 2009 ICC Code Development Hearings
Geoffrey Bromaghim, National Hydrogen Association

The upcoming International Code Council 2009 Annual Conference and Code Development Hearings will be held from October 24 – November 11 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Code Development Hearings will occur October 24-31 and November 4-11 at the Hilton Baltimore (whereas the Annual Conference is to be held November 1-4 at the Baltimore Convention Center).  The Fire Code Hearings specifically are scheduled for October 24-26.  Click here for the full schedule for the Hearings.

A number of proposed changes directly relating to hydrogen technologies will be heard.  The Hydrogen Industry Panel on Codes (HIPOC) submitted two proposals, F176 and F214, and they are coordinating their activities with other stakeholder groups.  Other proposals relevant for hydrogen technologies include F174, F175, F177, and F215Click here to access the full monograph of code change proposals.

We expect that the IFC proposals relevant to hydrogen, listed above, will not be heard until Sunday October 25th and into the 26th.
